It’s a mega gallery of the human form taken across the life of Life Drawing Wales. We are off on our summer break and when we return, first Tuesday of September, we will be refreshed and good, once again, to dynamically model for the attending artists.
This art class has become increasingly onerous to deliver and the fun, over the past year or two, post lockdown, has been somewhat missing from some of the sessions. In general, it’s the exponential spread of polarisation and fear of others that seems to be responsible. People increasingly hold fixed beliefs and fear discussing them in a public forum, worse still, becoming offended when someone chooses to express themselves in a manner that they take exception to. Thank you the wokerati and their culture of cancellation for that…
However, we’re having none of it and will continue to both delight and offend, in equal measure, our attending artists, with the occasional banter that might well and often does push boundaries.
We believe in freedom of speech and freedom of expression. We believe in that so strongly that we make space for all beliefs and ideologies. Of course, expression is open to criticism but we also hold firm that adults are well capable of taking opposing ideas to their own on the chin, and, where they feel the need or desire, providing themselves the counter-arguments or facts that demolish any nonsense.
Art is always political and life art doubly so. Our sessions are social occasions. Newsworthy discussions and random thoughts of models will not be stifled by current cultural ‘constraints’.
You have been warned ;)
