OMG! Take A Look At What I Found On Facebook

First off, I’ve copied this post and sent it as an email to the relevant ministers, in Wales and nationally, and to Nick Clegg who is doing rather well, now VP of FB. I’ve also copied in local and national press. I expect zero action or response from any.

As you may know, Facebook have shadow banned (admitted by a member of staff a year ago with promises of ‘something will be done’ but of course I’ve heard no more despite chasing) both of my business pages for my opposition to the government’s reaction and dreadful policy decisions regarding Covid 19. Further, Cardiff Life Model Collective was always receiving strikes and is even now at risk of permanent deletion for posting nudes, but you know, I never did. The posts were always within Facebook’s own rules. that doesn’t matter to Facebook though, the strikes remain…

And so I started to dig. And boy, did I find some shit! It was nipples at first, gyrating teens, upskirting, and then actual vaginas and buttholes. I reported a good few of these reels and Facebook got back with a ‘Thank you for reporting but the post did not go against our rules’ or something similar. Well, please tell me how a near-naked teen stroking her vagina can be acceptable to Facebook HQ when a drawn nipple is not!

Now, I am not a prude. I post nudes on my website and here, on this blog. The reason I post this evidence gathered over the course of an hour or so of scrolling through Facebook reels, is not because I am against nudity. Of course not, that would be crazy. But, I post this as Facebook is not showing due diligence and is not deleting posts that go against its own rules, because, I believe, these posts keep people on the platform. They do however delete my posts that do not show nipples or vaginas and have shadow banned my business. This has led to quite a financial hit and me having to put in a huge effort of alternative marketing to save my businesses.

I am however aghast at the proliferation of the sexualised images of young girls, many of whom it would not be legal to publish in a traditional publication. Facebook is sick and it needs a good dose of medicine to sort it out. For that, we need immediate action from governments globally. Well, I fear, we will be whistling for that action for a very long time…
